A Red Dress Radiates Sexy

January 22, 2010

A red dress radiates sexy. While a black dress connotes simple elegance and white symbolizes purity and femininity, dresses in red inject a more fun and wild side to a woman wearing it. Red is a bold color and deciding to wear one takes a great degree of confidence to be able to pull it off successfully. Choosing to wear red also means that you crave attention. So select the right cut and style for your body shape and size and you will stand out from all the rest looking provocative yet sophisticated.

Red is an attractive color and not that easy to pull off. In fact, not all designs are suited for this color. There are only certain cuts and styles fit for a red dress to achieve that sexy, elegant look. The slightest mistake in design choice can make you look cheap and sleazy like a prostitute. Knee-length or long gowns are the suitable lengths for a red dress. This tones down the attractive color to a subtler, more sophisticated look. A short red dress, especially one that cuts above the knees, has nothing elegant about it. Red as it is already attracts attention. Showing too much skin for an already bold color may attract the wrong kind of attention and create a different image than what you originally planned.

For regular-sized women, the red dress can be pretty versatile. Wearing it strapless, one-shoulder, empire cut or bubble-type, for example, in several fabric choices like lace, satin and silk, will accentuate those curves in all the right places and create a stunning look. For full-figured women, plus-size red dresses are also widely available in wonderful collections in your favorite shopping center or online. Be extra careful though in choosing a design. A red dress for a woman with a fuller figure should accent her assets and hide those unflattering curves. A halter top design is good choice. The sexy style emphasizes the shoulders, giving it a strong and defined character. The shoulders become the focal point, diverting attention away from the middle area. This design also makes the arms look slimmer. The neckline especially creates a sexy look for the cleavage. Choose demure necklines though that show just enough cleavage. Too low necklines show too much cleavage that look sleazy instead of sexy. A one-shoulder strap design is also perfect for bigger women. Like the halter top, attention is focused on top, creating an overall slimming and sexier effect. Fabric is also critical for full-figured women. Avoid tight-fitting or stretch materials that hug the curves in all the wrong places. Instead, choose soft fabrics like chiffon to hide the unwanted bulges and create a flowing, sexier look.

For both regular-sized and full-figured women, shoes and accessories for a red dress should be simple. The bright color is already an accessory so you need shoes and jewelry to complement rather than overwhelm your dress. Silver and gold goes well with red. Small, simple silver or gold jewelry would be appropriate. Metallic shoes will add a touch of glitter to your look. But a simple black pumps is also enough to accessorize your look. Lastly, but most importantly, feel confident and sexy in your red dress and your look is complete!
