Ballybunion Hotels: Great 3 and 4 Star Hotels To Visit In Ireland

May 11, 2010

The majority of Ballybunion hotels and guest-houses are located on the outskirts of this small village and usually within their own scenic grounds. The hotels selected here represent three of the best for service, ambiance and great food while still being in close proximity to the region’s popular beaches and Ballybunion golf club.

Set in its own woodland overlooking the Shannon Estuary the Glin Castle Hotel is an authentic old Irish castle that was completely renovates along with the estate grounds and walled gardens. Inside the renovations have retained a fair chunk of the castles regal past with an eclectic mix of guest room sizes and styles.

The elegant decor theme continues into all the hotel rooms which also feature many of the creature comforts (power showers, marble en-suites, satellite TV) that most modern travelers expect.

For a more traditional type of hotel the Ballygarry Hotel & Spa is set in a wonderful area of countryside. While the country manor style building is relatively new (built in 1958) there is a traditional country charm to the grounds and interiors.

The modern guest rooms are comfortable, bright and air with most sporting garden views. The real draw for those wishing to pamper themselves on a break is the knockout restaurant and the aqua spa. The restaurant has a great menu of Irish cuisine which even draws in a big local following, while the spa has mud baths, seaweed soaks and other aqua treatments.

Last, but certainly not least, the 15th century Ballyseede Castle Hotel provides a unique and memorable experience for any guest. The lavishly decorated interior continues from the dining & common rooms right through to the 12 huge guest rooms, each of which is uniquely decorated and fitted out with luxurious en-suites.

It would be doing the hotel a disservice to refer to it as a boutique hotel but Ballyseede really does provide a special setting, and their fine dining restaurant with views overlooking the castle lawns provides a culinary and visual treat that would be hard to surpass anywhere in Ireland.
