Finding the Best Residual Business Opportunities

June 16, 2010

Do you want to know the two best things about an internet business:  you don’t have to stand behind a counter all day and the profits can keep occurring for years to come.  Most of the time, once you have your website set up and you have done the work to get a flow of customers showing up, a web based business takes very little work.  It really can be a residual income business which will return you cash for the foreseeable future.

Of course getting to this spot takes a lot of work.  First you must determine what niche you will be working in.  It is best to find one that people are interested in and one where people a looking to buy things.  If  your potential customers are just looking for free information you will have a hard time making any kind of a sale.  Ideally, you want to be able to solve a problem for your customers by selling them a physical product, a service, or some sort of informational product.

I have found the best online business opportunities involve people who have a pressing need that requires a solution immediately.  Hopefully your visitor will land on your site, see the solution to their problem, and purchase it right then.  If the problem is one that takes a lot of research, like the need for a new car, then the chances of your visiting buying today are not that good.  Instead, he or she will most likely glean what information they can from your site and then move on to the next, never making a purchase from you.

As with any business, sales is the name of the game.  If you have visitors buy you can’t convert those people into paying customers then you really don’t have anything.  Find a current need people have and then offer a good, solution that works.  This is the key to a successful online business.
