Self analysis can often be the hardest thing for people to do. Although it’s not a problem for everyone, some people really don’t know when they’re good or bad at something. I’m sure you all know a few singers. And out of those few, I bet there’s some one that thinks they’re the best singer in the world but in reality can’t hit a single note in tune.
This is a problem that affects a lot of people, and often no one has the heart to tell them the truth. Sometimes it’s best not to tell them however, but instead guide them into better practices that will allow them to improve what they enjoy doing so they actually do become good.
One way of getting people to see things for how they truly are is by recording them. People can often analyse themselves better when they watch or hear things back, so this can be ideal. Some people still won’t see that they’re doing anything wrong however, so for these people it’s often best to send them on a course.
Another time people can’t see when they’re doing something wrong is when it comes to attracting a partner. Some people make the same mistakes again and again trying to how to get a boyfriend quick, and they never see what they’re doing is actually repelling the opposite sex. Sometimes they just need someone to tell them what they’re doing wrong so they can do it right. Same thing with making music, sometimes you need advice on how to make a mixtape well.
Having other people’s advice can be a very beneficial thing. We can’t always see when what we’re doing is wrong, but an outsider often has a much better and less bias view then ourself. Just make sure you take any feedback as constructive criticism and not get offended by it. They are after all only trying to help.
