Animals endangered or under protection
In the north live about 150 tigers still. Some ecological scientists say that the tiger will disappear completely from the earth in the next 10 to 20 years. Gibbons are under protection. In many places they are used as a tourist attraction. One call to the police is usually enough to send a monkey from the street to a special center in the jungle. In these centers they are prepared to come back to their natural environment. In some cases it takes years to reintroduce a gibbon from the street to the forest. During last years the last rhinoceros and buffalos living in the jungle have extinguished probably. There were not seen since 20 years.
Poisonous species
There are many dangerous snakes and vipers in Thailand. It would be impossible to enumerate them in this short article. They attack people rarely but it occurs from time to time, causing death. Some species are aggressive, some of them live on the ground, other in the trees, or in the water, ocean including. Some of them are able to bite even through tough material, like jeans. Some snakes living in the water can attack divers although it is extremely rare. Some jelly fishes and fishes are also dangerous. The most impressive and bug snake of Thai jungles is king cobra. Her body can achieve 6 meters long. Irritated are very fast. Spiders and scorpions are generally not dangerous. Marks of centipedes are very painful but don’t provoke death either. They achieve 20cms long. Thailand girls, especially from the Pattaya bar, can be dangerous in some way also.
Other common species
Thailand has to offer innumerous quantity of ants. In all houses are nets in the windows and around the beds against mosquitoes. Malaria is not a serious danger in Thailand. Big lizards from the forest are not dangerous either. If you are interested to see the beauty of wild life the best choice is to dive in the ocean. The richness of wildlife is still astonishing there.
