Choosing the Best Headrest DVD Screen for Your Needs

June 15, 2010

Getting a headrest DVD player and screens for a car is an exciting upgrade to consider, but with all the different technology out there, it can be difficult to decide exactly what specs to purchase.  Most headrest screens come in a standard 7″ size, but for different usages, you may find a bigger screen is exactly what you need.

For instance, as common as 7″ screens are, deluxe sizes from 8″-10″ are starting to become more common.  This can perhaps be attributed to a number of factors, including car size and media type.  For many of today’s larger cars where there is far more space between rows of seats, a larger screen may be better so that someone sitting farther back can see just as clearly.  Screen size can also be contingent upon what you intend to watch on your screens.  In days before high definition television, a big screen may have blurred a low resolution movie.  Today, however, when the average DVD has excellent resolution, not to mention the high resolution of an HD or Blue Ray disc, a larger screen greatly enhances the viewing experience because so much more detail is visible.

Similarly, if you intend to bring in a game console to hook up to your new DVD player, a larger screen is really necessary.  Playing video games on a small screen makes it difficult to control the game with the pinpoint accuracy that most games require, and makes it to difficult to spot many small objects in the game.  For younger children who might be using these games or movies to learn about reading or other things, a large screen will make it easier for them to decipher what’s being shown, and make the words and objects clearer to read.

Headrest DVD players are a great new feature for cars.  They can provide endless entertainment for car trips or waiting periods and can even turn an otherwise wasted car trip into a learning environment.  Thus, finding the perfect screen and player to fit your needs is a vital part of this installation.  Carefully researching your options and ensuring you get all of the features you want can make this purchase one you will enjoy and appreciate for years to come.
