Looking to add some accessories to your cruiser or ladies hybrid bicycle? You can add quite a few different accessories to ladies bicycles, but some of the basics that any rider should have on board, are a cyclometer, frame pump, tool bag, water bottle, and cage to hold it. Without these, your lovely stroll through town could quickly become a disaster area. You will also need to ensure that you know how to properly utilize each of the safety items you have on board, specifically, the frame pump and tool kit.
Cyclometer – When you are trying to stay in shape, keeping logs of how far you ride is a great way to determine how your body is changing. Unless you have a keen sense of navigation, and are able to tell distance better than Magellan himself, you will need to install a cyclometer that helps keep track of how far you have traveled.
Frame Pump – Flat tires happen on a regular basis, especially when you are traveling into unknown territory. Instead of being stuck pushing your bike home, you will want to make sure that you always have a frame-mounted tire pump on your bike. Most ladies cruiser bicycles have areas available to mount these pumps.
Tool Bag – Pedals falling off, chains needing to be strung back onto the gears, you name it, accidents happen when you are out on the road. In order to make sure you are equipped to deal with them, you will need to carry a tool kit that can be mounted to the frame. Velcro is usually sufficient to hold them on.
Water Bottle & Cage – Becoming dehydrated is also a problem while riding, but carrying a water bottle in your hands while coasting through turns is almost impossible. Installing a water bottle cage on your frame will help keep your water within reach, and keep you from having to hold it in awkward positions.
