Unlike the personal shredders, a commercial-grade shredder can be fed more sheets of paper each time and it can work a longer period each use. This is because they are equipped with more powerful motors that help to cut up more paper to operate longer. As this is a commercial-grade machine, they are usually found in warehouses or mail rooms where loud noises will not affect proper functioning of the company. Due to frequent shredding activities handled by these machines, they have to be regularly and properly maintained. Some maintenance includes oiling the cutting assemblies and wiping off the dust that forms on the blades.
