Mens Cubic Zirconia Rings and the Evolution of Mens Jewelry

July 4, 2010

Mens cubic zirconia rings are among the latest developments in the history of men’s jewelry. While it may not be a highly developed as the woman’s jewelry market today, men’s jewelry go back several centuries. Today, the jewelry most men wear is the wedding band. Silver, platinum and titanium, and more recently mens cz wedding rings have become popular.

Among the Egyptians, men also wore necklaces, bracelets, earrings, apart from rings. Among the pharaohs and the nobility, these were symbols of the wearer’s wealth and social status. The bling we know today readily comes to mind and perhaps is meant to convey the same ideas.

Jewelry is often associated with precious metals or stones. But the value of jewelry is not defined purely by the minerals employed for them. In medieval times, religious jewelry were made in wood or the less valuable metals. But they were highly prized because their values were not material at all. In our time, cubic zirconia rings are considered precious not because of their monetary value. But they are collectibles that women and men want to own. The reason men’s cubic zirconia rings have become popular is how they look. They glitter like the more expensive diamonds without coming close in price.

Men can be very choosy when it comes to the jewelry they wear. Most of all, these pieces, such as cuff links, tie clips, rings, and even bracelets and chains have to look masculine. Gold, silver and diamond are all perfectly acceptable choices for men’s rings. However, they may convey extravagance and ostentation. Mens cz rings are certainly not as extravagant. They are equally stunning and durable at very reasonable prices.

A mens cubic zirconia ring can also be enhanced with gemstones. Many of these rings may appear to have emerald, ruby, topaz or aquamarine on them. But they may very well be cz, too, treated chemically to have the color of these gems, then given the right size and cut.

The cultural significance of jewelry has changed through the centuries. In earlier times, only men of certain ranks were allowed to wear them. Jewelry was exclusive to priests and kings. That may be seen even today. Today, it seems the trend is more jewelry for the common man. These rings are a good example, and are often more classic than some other jewelry choices.

Now, we are getting more and more used to seeing men bejeweled once more. Pins, watches, rings and now ear rings are popular. Cubic zirconia in men’s jewelry are a democratic idea. Mens cubic zirconia rings show how men can dress up using attractive ornaments that communicate style without being a symbol of wealth and status.
