Basic Tips For Treating Mild Acne

December 31, 2009

Acne is a problem for many adults and teens.  It can be embarrassing.  Most people attempt to hide the issue.  There are ways to minimize breakouts and have success with limiting acne.

There are many basic tips that you can use to deal with cases of mild acne.  One of the best ones are to clean the area.  Make sure to wash your face with a mild acne soap in the morning and at night.  Keeping the area clean will help.  Making current pimples go away will not occur overnight but be patient.  They will eventually disappear.

Try to not pick at them or pop them.  This action will only make the situation worse and prolong it.  It is best to leave sleeping dogs lie.  The best course of action for a pimple is to leave it alone.  It will take care of itself.

Make sure to drink lots of water each day.  Hydrating oneself will improve your complexion.  Most people go through life dehydrated.  If you feel thirsty then you are dehydrated.  Athletes try to drink one half of their body weight each day.  After a few days of this, a person will be hydrated and the body will be running smoothly.

Acne can actually worsen by being dehydrated. The body works hard at disposing of dead skin cells.  If a person is dehydrated, the body does not get rid of the skin effectively and it can lead to clogged pores.  The clogged pores turn around and become acne.

Improving acne takes time.  Create a consistent routine.  Wash your face twice per day with an acne soap.  This is the best type of soap for the job.  Eat right and drink plenty of water.  If you do get a pimple, do not pick at it.  You do not want any scarring.  Leave it alone and it will go away over time.
