Wintertime is finally behind us and spring has just started. It will not be long before we will spend most of our spare time outside in our garden or on our patio. Because we like to spend our time outside it is important for us to put some effort in decorating the place. For some people this means they want to refurnish their patio but sometimes it can be enough to consider outdoor lighting options.
You don’t even need a big budget to spend on new lamps and wiring in order to create something special. Although a bigger budget does mean there is much more possible, even small budgets are able to create something special.
Lanterns and Candles
if you are spending much time on your patio than your house itself will probably already emit a lot of light which most often is enough to see the area around you. But light is not always intended for visibility, we also use it to improve atmosphere and aesthetics. With candles you can create such an atmosphere and all you need are some nice looking lanterns. You can decide yourself what kind of atmosphere you want to create. You could fo for some persian or chinese lanterns to create an eastern look. But you could also choose for stainless steel lanterns or brushed nickel for a more stylish decor.
String lights
If you really want to add some bright light on your patio than the best way to do that is with string lights. There are other options to consider like solar lighting or lights that run on batteries but string lights are still the cheapest and have more options to choose from. There are many designs and types that you could use, the only difficulty is that you need to connect the strings to your electricity network. For people who don’t like to work with electricity this can be a burden.
Solar lights are much more expensive but they are easier to install and they are also good for the environment. Another advantage is that they only need solar light to get charged, and solar light doesn’t cost you a dime. You could choose for solar patio lights on a stick which you can put in the ground but you can also choose for patio umbrella lights. You can hang these directly in your umbrella which increases visibility range when you want to read or play a game.
