There are many different items that are considered standard when thinking about camping gear. A tent, a camp chair and a sleeping bag would be examples that fall under that category. And although these are sometimes the most important things to bring there are many other devices that are very useful to a camper that may be overlooked. One such thing is a portable shower.
Often times when camping in a deserted area there is no way to shower and at best you are reduced to washing in a cold stream or pond. There is a device that can provide a nice hot shower without requiring any electricity and is as simple as filling a container with water and waiting for it to heat up. These portable showers work through solar heating methods. Typically the water is stored in a large bag that is very dark in color. The bag absorbs energy from the sun and uses it to heat the stored water. The water in these bags can get very hot and will provide a much warmer shower than most people would expect.
Portable showers for camping are relatively cheap for what they offer. A warm shower can be had for as low as 10 to 40 dollars. Many of these showers will last for 3 or 4 showers and they become warm in as little as a few hours. There exist simple models that just come with a bag and a hose and then there are models that are built around a whole shelter. For the simpler models an extra shelter would be a good investment as well. Unless privacy is not an issue for the products uses.
