fishing chair

Used fishing tackle may seem a good deal at first, but don’t be fooled by the incredible amount of discount on them. They’re to be dealt with like you would treat a used car. Check everything you can ever think of, and the really bad ones get ruled out quite soon. Fishing chairs are the main point of interest in your whole gear. That’s where you’re going to spend 8 to 10 hours at a time and that’s what you arrange all your other gear around. It does make sense to spend some time choosing a good one.

If you think fishing chairs are all the same, think again. Going back to the car example, it’s like saying all the cars are identical, which, frankly, sounds silly. You can fish using a lawn chair and a tackle box, but that’s not how the vast majority of professionals do it. You need a sitting appliance that holds on even if you happen to have to jump up to reach one of the rods. It needs to endure hot, cold, rain, snow and high humidity. It also should be able to take your weight no matter the amount of clothing you have on. Note that your clothes can get as heavy as 10-15 lbs plus boots, especially when damp.

Choose features that are useful to you but don’t add much to the overall price. A rod holder for example sounds like something you could use. A little retractable table also comes handy when you prepare the baits and hooks. A built in beer holder on the other hand may raise the price considerably and can be replaced by a beer holder box that you can keep next to your chair.

When purchasing used fishing tackle, keep both eyes open for details. Check all the nuts and bolts. See if the fabric is tearing anywhere. It most often gives up in the middle of the sitting part or around the tubes. If everything looks alright, you can start bargaining. Check if the chair has any warranty, try not to buy one without. The best place to find discount fishing chairs is almost always online.

If you can try some chairs in a local store or supermarket, you’ll have a general idea about the models that you like. It’s suggested that you check them out online as well, because the price can be much less than in shop. When buying through eBay, ensure that you purchase from a respected seller. Check feedbacks and trading history to see if they’ve sold items with similar price before.
