The open market is a wonderful place where different skill sets can be recognized and monetized.  You might have once been mocked because you are an extremely detail oriented person who has a compulsive need to clean but there is a place in the job market for you as well.  A cleanliness obsession is not a liability if you can put it to good use and by entering the cleaning industry, you can make big bucks.  Who can argue the positives of making money out of something you’re good at?

To enter the cleaning industry, you need to be aware that your standards of cleaning might not be the same as everyone else’s.  Some people are fine with a light cleaning, and some others prefer heavy duty cleanings.  Believe it or not, there could be some people that are even pickier than you with cleaning and you will have to live with that as well since this is a paid gig.  Whichever type of client you have, you will need to find a balance.  While you want to always do a good job for your clients, you cannot linger overly long as that will affect your bottom line to take on more available cleaning jobs.  You will have to figure out ways to clean effectively but efficiently as well while charging the right amount for your detailed efforts.

Leaving a good impression with clients is critical in the cleaning business.  It is a business model that is based very much on word of mouth recommendations.  People love to brag about the fact that they are rich enough to hire a housekeeper.  Before you know it, you will have their friends calling you up for your cleaning services.  It is a wonderful way to expand and if you cannot handle all the house cleaning work, you can outsource the cleaning to others.  Gradually, before you know it, your obsession with cleaning will turn into your own cleaning business.
