portable dog crate

Dog crates are an essential tool for any dog owner and can be especially useful for things such as dog potty training and making your dog feel safe while traveling. In this article I’ll be talking about some of the different types of dog crates for sale as well as what to look for when buying them.

The most common type of crate is the wire mesh crate. When many people see a mesh crate they immediately think that it’s cruel to keep a dog in there for any length of time but this isn’t the case. In fact, dogs feel most secure when in an enclosed space.

The size of the crate is one of the most important decisions you’ll have to make when getting one. While it might seem ridiculous to get large dog crates for puppies we all know how quickly they can grow and you don’t want to have to replace the crate in the near future.

There are several different materials used in dog crates. We’ve already mentioned the wire crate but some owners prefer to get their dog a plastic crate. It’s important to make sure you get some sort of soft dog crate bed for your crate so you can be sure the dog is comfortable when using it.

It can be difficult to start training your dog when you first get it as all you’ll want to do with it is play. However, it’ll make your life a lot easier in the long run if you crate train as early as possible because it allows the dog to get used to the crate and start to view it as a place to feel safe.

There are many more styles of crate you can buy. For example, dog crate furniture is becoming more and more popular because it fits in so well with the rest of the home.

Sometimes you need to take your dog with you or maybe you just want your best friend around all the time. Maybe it’s in the car or on a plane or to a friends house overnight. To keep your pet safe (and put your own mind at ease), travel with a portable dog crate. They’re easily accessible online and come in any shape, size or material you might need.

If you have a small dog (under 20 lbs), you might even be able to bring your dog on an airplane and have them ride under the seat in front of you.  Most airlines like the total weight of the container and the dog to be under 20 lbs, but I’ve never seen them actually weigh them. The most important thing when choosing a crate for air travel is to make sure the top isn’t hard. All airlines have different seat heights, so your dog crate needs to be able to be flexible to fit depending on the height. Mostly it’s your own judgement deciding if the dog fits comfortably in the container and then comfortably under the seat. Your dog’s temperament is of course a factor too. Only take your dog on a plane if you know they won’t be too stressed and they won’t bark the entire trip.

If you want to bring your pet with you on a car trip, your pet will be safer in a portable crate in the back seat. It’s the most dangerous to have the dog on your lap or sitting in the passenger seat. You’d never let a small child move around in the car, so don’t let your dog do it either. If they’re in their crate in the back seat they’ll be safer if you stop quick or get into an accident.

There are a wide variety of portable crates now. Some are mesh, some fold up, most have handles for easy carrying and there are huge discounts online if you take the time to look around.
