If you feel sluggish and tired during the daytime, you probably are not getting enough sleep, or the sleep you are getting is not sound. With a little experimenting, you can improve these obstacles and feel a great improvement on how you feel each day. It is imperative for all of us to get the proper amount of sleep to properly function and perform well day to day. Being sleep deprived can make a person irritable, nonfunctional, and have the feeling of constant exhaustion.

Some tips if you seem to be unable to fall asleep at an appropriate time would be to cut out caffeine 5 hours before your chosen bedtime. Avoid taking naps during the daytime. Getting into a regular routine can also help your body to adjust to new hours of sleep. Sleep aids can be effective in the beginning to get yourself used to going to bed at a certain time. This can be effective, but most sleep aids are highly addictive and their ability to work wears off after taking for a lengthy period. Sleep aids should be taken while being monitored by a physician. They can be taken to help your body and mind get into a routine, and then you should stop taking them once this is accomplished. Another seemingly popular issue that many are unaware of is snoring problems. Many people snore badly, but do not realize this is the reason they are not getting quality sleep. If you snore, and feel fatigued daily, this may be your problem. There are many snore aids available to help you stop snoring. You may be surprised at how much better you feel if you are able to stop your snoring habits!

Other recommendations for better sleep would be to make sure that your mattress is comfortable. Many people sleep and wake up feeling sore because their mattress is too soft or stiff.  Mattress pads can be an easy and inexpensive option if buying a completely new mattress set is out of the question.

If you have attempted all of the above, and are still restless and fatigued, you can talk to your doctor about other alternatives he may be able to recommend. Getting the right amount of sleep each night is important so that we can be as productive as possible in doing our daily tasks.
