In the state of Tamil Nadu, in Southern India, the Tamil film industry is very much alive and prosperous. This industry has affected the way that almost all Indian films are created. Tamil movies are distributed to many countries throughout the world. There are many famous Indian actors and actresses involved in this industry, including one of the biggest Indian actresses, Nayanthara.
Tamil actress, Nayanthara was born Diana Mariam Kurian in 1984. The other stage names she goes by are Nayan and Nayantara. Because her dad was a part of the Air Force, her childhood was spent in many different parts of India. Nayantara was first discovered when she was attending Marthoma College. Over the years, she has starred in several Tamil movies and Telugu movies. After the complete success of a movie called Rajinikanth, every director was clamoring to have her be a part of their films. It was not long after this that she begin receiving more important roles.
In 2008, she was part of a film called Yaaradi Nee Mohini, where she starred as a woman named Keerthi. In the movie, her character plays the secret love of the main actor. The movie is about the passion between two young lovers and the forbidden love that they share. It made the most money of any movie from Tamil during that year, and was nominated for seven awards at the awards ceremony for southern India. Nayan won the Vijan award as well for the best heroine in a movie.
Many of the movies that Nayantara has been a part of have been very successful. She has worked with a lot of well known Indian actors and actresses, which has only made her a more popular. She is a fabulous actress that is quickly rising to the top of the Tamil movie industry.
