Camping In Style: A Look At The 3 Man Tent, Trailer Tent, and Caravan

December 12, 2009 – 3:19 pm

Camping is a great way to spend quality time with your family and friends in the great outdoors.  Their are many different forms of camping but they all offer the same opportunities; a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life such as the television or phone, and suck in some clean air and wonderful scenery.

When it comes to camping, there is many different forms and they relate to your needs, what you can afford and what luxury level you are after.

The basic level of camping is in a tent, whether that is a 3 man tent or an 8 person family type tent.  With a canvas tent there is very little luxury as it is just you, the outdoors and the canvas covering you from the elements.  Canvas tents are however, extremely versatile pieces of equipment:  some models are small enough to fit into a backpack whilst others can take up most of the boot space in a standard family car.

The next level in the camping hierarchy is probably the trailer tent.   These pieces of equipment are a tent like structure that folds out of a trailer that is towed behind your car.  The bedroom areas tend to be off ground, giving you that extra cover from cold and damp and biting insects that a standard tent cannot.  Trailer tents also have the ability to expand by use of an awning, an extra tent like space, that can add precious living space on a longer holiday.

At the top of the camping tree is undoubtedly the caravan.  With a solid roof and four walls, these beauties can be like home from home, with all the appliances that you would expect to find in a small apartment, such as televisions, fridges, cookers and solid beds.  They are highly versatile as they are towed behind a vehicle and can be used anywhere as it is just a case of putting the legs down and you are set.

Camping is a great way to spend your time and there are many varieties of tents for sale.  You can make your decision based on the kind of outdoor experience you prefer.  Why not invest a little time and money and check out what camping can do for you.
